WDLC Country and Neversink Media Group have been honored with the New York State Broadcasters Association Excellence Award for Outstanding Sports Coverage, recognizing their exceptional broadcast coverage of Port Jervis High School Varsity Football.
The award-winning broadcast team consists of Kevin Halpenny and Tom Faggione, Ethan McElroy and Jack George, whose dynamic play-by-play coverage brought Raiders football games to life for thousands throughout the 2024 season. Under the leadership of station owners Bud and Juli Williamson, WDLC Country has maintained its commitment to local sports coverage and community engagement.
The station's comprehensive coverage included weekly broadcast of Port Jervis High School Varsity Football on 95.3FM, 107.7FM, 1490AM and the WDLC Country app. 2024 is the first time in the school’s history, Port Jervis has won the ultimate New York high school football prize with their NYSPHSAA Class B championship!
