Pike County Commissioner Matthew Osterberg is proud to announce that he has been successful in reestablishing the historic Star overlooking Milford Borough. The star will once again shine above the community following a collaborative effort involving local organizations, federal officials, community leaders, and the National Park Service.

“On July 4th, as America celebrates 250 years of freedom, opportunity, and democracy, the historic Star will once again shine over Milford,” said Commissioner Osterberg. “It's light will connect our past to our future, reminding us of the generations who built this community and inspiring those who will carry it forward. As we welcome America’s next 250 years, there could be no more fitting symbol than seeing the Star return to The Knob—standing once again as a beacon of pride, unity, perseverance, and hope.”

For generations, the Star stood atop The Knob and served as one of Milford’s most recognizable landmarks, visible throughout the borough and surrounding area. Thanks to the dedication and perseverance of numerous individuals and organizations, the Star will be reestablished and illuminated on July 4, 2026, as part of the celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.

This achievement was made possible through the collective efforts of the Pike County Commissioners, Congressman Rob Bresnahan and his staff, the Milford Lions Club, the Milford Rotary Club, Milford Hospitality Group, community volunteers, and the National Park Service.
